Berrien County Cancer Service

Who We Are

Who We Are

The Berrien County Cancer Service (BCCS) has had the honor of caring for Southwest Michigan’s cancer patients since 1948. We are a unique skilled oncology nursing service that provides compassionate care for cancer patients and those with related illnesses in the comfort of their own home. We are able to do this at no cost because of the generosity of our community and we are “neighbors helping neighbors” in a time when they need our special care.

In addition to our nursing care services, we have an extensive loan closet of medical equipment and supplies that we offer at no cost including nutritional supplements and wound management supplies as well as incontinence products. We have wigs, turbans, caps and can provide breast cancer patients special products. We also host an art program for children and families impacted by cancer.

Our services are available to all of those living in Berrien County who have a cancer diagnosis or related illness by a licensed physician at any facility.

Where Are We

For many years we served our community from our Linco Road location in Stevensville, MI. In the fall 2018 of our office and loan closet moved to the second floor of the Marie Yeager Cancer Center located at 3900 Hollywood Road in St. Joseph, MI to more conveniently serve the patients we work with.

Please explore our website to learn more about how we can assist you, a family member, patient, or friend. We are here to help and will work with you to provide resources that may be able to offer support outside of our scope of services. You can also follow us on our social media channels located at the top of this page to stay informed about upcoming events and cancer related information.

You can reach us at (269) 429-3281 if you need medical equipment and/or supplies, skilled nursing assistance, or simply have questions about moving forward with care.

How We are Funded

Our agency is funded as an impact partner with the United Way of Southwest Michigan, contributions in the form of memorials, direct contributions from individuals and a large variety of other community stakeholders or estates. Every dollar given to us stays in our community for our cancer patients in our community.

Fundraisers may be sponsored by individuals or groups who desire to support our mission of care for our beloved cancer patients or those with serious illnesses. We also have signature fundraisers: Pennies For Patients™ , Fight Cancer in all Colors and the BCCS Annual Art Festival. Detailed information regarding these fundraisers may be found on our website.

All of our funds come from local sources. BCCS does do not receive any funds from national organizations, their fundraising campaigns, Medicare, Medicaid or insurance companies. We are very grateful for all the funding that is provided to us by our generous community. All funds donated stay local helping local patients.
