As I see the leaves falling to create a beautiful carpet of red, gold, orange, and brown, I am reminded of the soon-coming holidays around the corner.
This year the holidays will be even more special for our family as we will celebrate with a newly added granddaughter, Melanie Dawn, our first grandchild! We will treasure the time we have with her for a few months until her family
returns to Peru where our son is an airplane mechanic for a medical evacuation team.

As we gather together for the holidays with our family and friends. It is also a special time to help those around us who may be struggling to make ends meet. Giving Tuesday, the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, is a special day for us as we raise funds to give to our patients who need extra assistance for holiday cheer. The money raised for Giving Tuesday is your special gift that goes directly to the patients and their families to help them with gifts and a delicious holiday meal. As we share your gift with them, their smiles of gratitude and appreciation says it all. If you would like to brighten a patient’s Christmas, please give by using this QR code.
Did you know that our local community is the only place with an awesome nursing service like the Berrien County Cancer Service? We depend on donations to provide our unique skilled nursing care for those who need extra support during treatment. Our Resource Locker is there with needed items to help provide essential items for safety, comfort, and health. Your year-end giving to BCCS keeps our mission of bringing hope and comfort to those fighting cancer.
We are excited to announce that we were awarded a $5,000 grant from the Michigan Gateway Community Foundation to rebuild our website! By the end of the year, we should have a more user friendly, interactive website that is easily updated. It has been 9 years since our current website was built, so visit it now and when the new one is done, give us some feedback to help us improve your experience learning about BCCS through the web!
